There’s a new fusion of art and tech out making waves in the dance club scene, and Syber is proud to be a part of it. Experiencing a DJ set is fantastic, but combining it with virtual reality is an entire new entertainment experience that can’t be missed. We’ve been working with Android Jones and musical artist Bassnectar recently to promote Microdose VR, an all new software experience in virtual reality that fuses music and artistic culture. Creative Director Android Jones showed off the software’s awesome capability during the New Year’s Eve party. Other members of the team include Systems Developer Anson Phong, CTO Scott Hedstrom, and Audio Engineer Evan Bluetech.
This is DJ culture, turning into VJ culture.
DJ’s are new pushing the envelope for in-house music experiences and are being coined as VJs–Video Jockeys, instead of the familiar Disc Jockey. Bassnectar and Android Jones utilized the Syber computers to produce an unforgettable show to welcome in 2017. Running an HTC Vive, the artists explored a trippy world where they could “paint” in a virtual environment and adjust shapes in realtime as the music changed.
DJ culture has come a long way from just spinning records.
Syber has worked in the past with artists that originated out of Burning Man, and we’re proud to be a part of the growing scene of the Video Jockey, combining excellent music, inspiring art, and fantastic technology.
